Weight Loss Tips
ByGet ready… it’s just around the corner… the annual “New Years Resolutions” list is almost here… (and my Top 3 Weight Loss Tips for you below)
Everyone makes one… yet most don’t do a fraction of what they say they’re going to do…
How come?
I’m no better, shoot, I’ve screwed up more times than I care to admit in my life.. failing to follow through was my middle name. I realized though that life was passing me by… and if I wanted to get somewhere significant, I’d better get cranking.
So I have this statement in big, bold, red letters on a single white sheet of paper taped to the wall right in front me so I can literally see it all the time. Here’s what it says:
“What Do I Have To Do Every Hour of Every Day to Get From Where I Am To Where I Want To Go?”
Because it’s really just as simple as that. What we do each hour of the day will determine our future outcome. There’s nothing mythical or new ageish here. Just simply focus on what you can AND will follow-through with. It will determine where you will be, either with your body, your finances, health, relationships, whatever.
So since this is a fitness blog, let me give you my TOP 3 WEIGHT LOSS TIPS to help you get going for this next years resolutions…
1. Plan
2. Plan
3. Plan
I know, not so earth-shattering… or is it? Remember this statement… “little hinges swing big doors…” Sometimes the simplest things can carry the most weight.
Read the post below this one, the one about “The Biggest Loser” . Did you notice that almost all of them said “planning” was their key to success? They always know where, what, and when their next meal is going to come. No guesswork.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS IN A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G IN LIFE? Follow the path(s) of people that blazed the trail before you.
So listen to what The Biggest Loser folks (and me) say:
1. Plan your meals in advance
2. Plan when you will exercise (and stick to it – not enough time simply means not prioritizing it high enough on your daily “things to do” list)
3. Plan to experience hurdles and roadblocks and have back-up plans in place.
That’s it!
Let me know if you think this post resonates with you, and if I get enough comments about it I’ll post a follow-up post to my weight loss tips that goes into more detail on specific strategies you can implement right now (that don’t take a lot of time).

One serving of pasta means 1/2 cup of cooked pasta. However, most restaurants serve a pasta dish with 4 servings of pasta!!! You do not need to finish and clean off the plate every time. You can simply ask to take home the leftover.

Eating small frequent meals help to balance your calorie intake throughout the day and also keeps your blood sugar level balanced. Instead of eating 3 big meals, try to eat 5 – 6 smaller meals throughout the day.

Fruits and vegetables are packed with beneficial fibers, vitamins and antioxidants. They fill up your stomach fast so you feel full earlier. They are also low in calories and helps to keep your calorie count low.

If you have a lot of weight to lose you will lose it quicker than someone who has a few pounds to lose. The more weight that your body has to lose the more calories you need to maintain it. This holds true even when you are actively dieting. This is why that many dieters, if they stick to their food and exercise plan, will lose weight at a much faster rate. Many dieters will confuse this with hitting a weight loss plateau, but they are quite different because in the case of a plateau it happens when you have lost a lot of weight and your body hits a starvation mode so it can catch up.

When you are close to your weight loss goal you have already pretty much cut as many calories as you possibly can. For the heavier dieter is much easier to trim 1,000 calories from your diet to make you lose 100 pounds. The same does not hold true with someone who has already lost 90 of those 100 pounds. Their calories have already been cut as far as they can be. Since there are not many pounds to lose it will take much longer to drop those 10 pounds.

Of course, the archbishops will resist this, but they speak for a tiny, irrelevant fringe: just 7 per cent of Brits regularly attend religious services. This group has become increasingly hysterical this year, claiming they are being persecuted. The Catholic commentator Cristina Odone, for example, has claimed secularists are “the new fascists”.

But in reality, the religious are still given extraordinary and undemocratic privileges. Their representatives are given seats in the House of Lords. Their ideas are protected from insult by law. They are given a vast network of state-funded centres to indoctrinate children, even though more than 70 per cent of us oppose these schools. They are allowed to commit repulsive acts of animal cruelty in the creation of halal and kosher meat. They are legally allowed to discriminate against gay men and lesbians.

My friend, it’s not about cutting calories, it’s about effectively ‘MANIPULATING’ those calories to get the desired effect you’re after.
For instance, you can eat a TON more calories ONCE you reach your desired goal weight IF you exercise correctly, AND, eat strategically. Of course, you can’t ALWAYS eat a lot more calories. But, done strategically you can actually enjoy ALL YOUR FAVORITE foods quite a number of times per week.
