Here is one of my trade secrets to lose weight fast

There are many particular suggestions for what will “work.” In the end, the balance between calorie intake and calorie expenditure is what determines whether you gain or lose weight. According to every reliable scientific source, you must burn 500 more calories per day than you consume if you want to lose 1 pound of weight per week. The water loss initially will exceed this, but do not allow yourself to get giddy. Plan a sensible diet and exercise routine and stick to it. Healthy habits do more for you than fad diets.
You can actually eat more food but still lose weight if you pick “low density” foods.

With that said, I’ll guess I’ll ask you a question. Ive been a reader of yours Harry and I have been following you since the EAS days. My question is are you planning on or have you revamped your amazing fat burning formula program to include your new eating plan? I have your old system and I was wondering if it has been updated yet to include you current meal strategies!

I think the key to the program success is the combination of fresh, raw vegetables and fruit, with the quantities of oats, and certain key supplements.

Hany it is definitely the BCAAs… you turned me on these and they work absolute wonders for muscle retention and fat loss.

Given your overall extremely clean eating habits (with a few assumptions, I calculate that a minimum of at least 85% of your meals are “clean”) when combined with your rigorous adherence to resistance training programs, my observation is that you are not afraid to take in what would scary amounts of fat — even to the average couch-potato. Since all living entities strive for homeostasis, your metabolism becomes ‘lazy’ when eating clean all the time. The massive fat spike sends your metabolism into overdrive to reestablish your equilibrium by aggressively burning the excess fat. However, your body does not down-regulate the metabolic overdrive instantly and within 48 hours of resuming clean eating, you would notice body fat loss beyond what you would notice at a constant metabolic rate. The key, of course, is that the massive fat intake is TEMPORARY.

Syd, I LOVE your answer, it smacks of years of study and knowing the body really well. But in fact it is the massive amount of carbohydrates the send my metabolism into overdrive. And you’re right about the TEMPORARY nature of doing this.

Ok, here’s a hint… in analyzing my diet (on my strict low-calorie days), there is something I’m consuming in relatively high quantities on those days that is really helping me to lose fat quicker. What is it? It’s one word…

Heavy amounts of fibrous water filled vegetables would be my best guess.

Its already been said, but I was also gonna go with the BCAA’s.

It could possibly be the grapefruit, as its a natural fat burner and I do notice it on all your low days.

Bingo! Jeff Gustafsson hit it on the head! Heavy amounts of fibrous, water-filled vegetables. FIBER is the key. Two reasons. First, fiber goes through your body largely unabsorbed, it provides bulk in foods without “active” calories. So if you had a 20 gram carbohydrate meal and 10 of those grams were fiber, then your true “net” carbohydrates would only be 10 grams, or HALF the real calories your body is ingesting. Cool, right?

Second, most foods that are high in fiber are foods that are typically found in nature. Veggies/salads, etc. And these are the foods that will help you lose fat easiest.

Finally, high fiber foods tend to be low on the glycemic index. This causes a slow, even, controlled release of insulin when you eat these foods, helpful for preventing fat storage.
