Your spot on about nutrition and exercise working together.  Not as difficult as it seems once you get a routine going.  The hard part is making that initial move.

Incorporate some type of weight lifting exercise, plays right into what your saying about bone density (prevent osteoporosis) and help reduce the risk in heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure etc...
