Will You Ever Make Exercise Training a Priority?
By“Gotta go baby, late for my flight at 8:30am this morning” I hollered as I was zooming out the door to catch a flight for one of the many conferences I attend each year.
Prior to packing my bag I went through my checklist:
Number of pants I needed with matching shirts
underwear
socks
belts
shoes
exercise training sneakers
exercise training shorts
exercise training t-shirts
toiletries
Here’s a trick question for you…
Which of the above packed items do most people NOT pack when they go on a trip?
If you guessed exercise training shorts, sneakers, and t-shirts, you’re right.
Know what else?
When I call the hotels looking for the best deals, I always ask if they have a gym AND what kind of equipment they have in it. If they don’t have what I need I look for another hotel, regardless of the “deal” they’ve got going.
Do most people?
Here’s the real deal:
If you don’t start now, I mean as in yesterday, prioritizing your exercise training workouts, making them one of the top “must-do” things you perform on a weekly basis, come hell or high water, then you’ll never get the kind of body you want. Isn’t that why you’re here even reading this?
This is tough, but needed medicine. IF YOU CANNOT MAKE YOUR EXERCISE TRAINING WORKOUTS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN YOUR LIFE then you better stop reading this blog right now, and every other blog, website, ebook, magazine, article, book, diet, etc, about getting in better shape because IT ISN’T GOING TO HAPPEN FOR YOU and you’re wasting your time reading about it but not taking consistent action.
Do you have to force yourself to brush your teeth? No, you do it to prevent tooth decay. It’s an automatic part of your daily life and you always make time for it, no matter what. Is it necessarily fun to brush your teeth? Of course not, it’s a necessary “chore” we do because we don’t want rotted, stained teeth.
Exercise training is the same thing. You don’t want to have to force yourself to exercise, you want to get to the point where it is just NOT AN OPTION to not workout. It is as much a part of your daily life as brushing your teeth is.
Do you get what I’m trying to say here?
Once you get to the point where you think about and schedule your weekly workouts, and do not let family, work, or lack of time get in the way of not performing your exercise training sessions, then you know that exercising has become an automatic lifestyle response, like brushing your teeth.
And your new, permanently fit and healthy body is just around the corner.
