What do Motorcycles & Fast Weight Loss Tips Have in Common?

The rains started early…

And by the time noon rolled around (my scheduled departure time), it was still raining…

Oh well, good thing my son was still with me because now we could play the “monster” game some more.

As the time started getting closer to 6 pm, and it was still raining, I started to worry. There was no way now I was going to make it up to Daytona Beach before dark on my motorcycle. Thanks goodness for my bright yellow riding suit with lots of reflective patches and the new tires I had gotten the week before. Wait… the guy at the motorcycle shop said I had to be careful on the tires for the first 100 miles because they could slip easily. And it was still raining… hmmm…

7:40 pm was the time I finally left… yea, almost dark. I did a longer trip a couple of months ago (4+ hours) but still, the thought of the night ride was a little daunting (especially with the rain and new “slick” tires).

Off I went, 3 pit stops later, I arrived in Daytona Beach at 11:40 pm. After giving the “all-safe” sign to my loved ones back home that I arrived safe, I proceeded to turn on my computer. 4 hours later I went to bed. And 3 hours later I was up for breakfast before my meeting at 9 am.

At breakfast the first dilemma of the day arrived… the MENU… What to eat that was healthy. Today was not my “free-for-all” day and the menu left just a bit to be desired for a healthy meal. This menu had almost no veggies on it, and only bad carbs (hash browns – about the worst carbs you can put into your body because of the high fat content – bad fat at that – and high carbs – a combination almost guaranteed to pack on the pounds quicker than you can imagine).

    What would you do?
    Here’s what I did…(lesson of the day):

First, I chose the healthiest protein source I could find. I settled on an egg omelet with 2 regular eggs and 2 egg whites. This took care of 2 birds with one stone because my fat content was also taken care of as well (remember, we’re NOT after a low-fat AND low-carb diet here becuse this WILL backfire on you).

What about carbs?

I asked the waiter to load the omelet with as many vegetable ‘things’ as he could find. Green/red/yellow peppers, onions, tomato, carrot slices, spinach, thinly sliced cucumbers, capers, whatever veggie you can think of. HOLD THE CHEESE THOUGH… unfortunately, cheese is almost all fat, and should never be on anyone’s diet.

Your Fast Weight Loss Tipsjust think about putting these 3 things together with every meal (any meal really):

1. Lean meat (beef – sirloins or rounds are good cuts of meat, chicken breast, fish, shrimp)

2. Fibrous vegetables (brocolli, cauliflower, spinach, hearty salads – kale/swiss chard)

3. Healthy Fats – extra virgin olive oil (1 tablespoon)

These fast weight loss tips are your simple recipe for losing fat and staying healthy.

Remember this clearly… every single day you are either helping, or harming your body. And it’s the cumulative effects of what you do every single day that will eventually determine your overall health in your later years.

I’ll finish this post with a final story. I was at the doctor’s the other day and got into the elevator with a lady that was probably in her 60’s. She was hobbling pretty badly with a cane. She turned to me and sadly said, “…I didn’t count on spending all of my time at the doctor’s office during my retirement… it doesn’t seem fair…”.

This woman was extremely overweight (big clue). I didn’t have the heart to tell her that she probably caused almost all of the problems she had herself – by her inactivity and lack of good food choices (every single day) that cumulatively caused her to decline to her present condition.

You see, it’s not about living a long life at all… it’s about living a healthy, vibrant life, pain-free, until the maker decides it’s time for you to go. Who wants to suffer for decades before you go? I don’t… do you?

The choice is in your hands.  And it starts with the very next thing you DECIDE to do (or not do) TODAY!

Start simply by TODAY crafting your meals like the above tip, and starting some kind of exercise program. TOMORROW, do the same thing.

    THE POINT! Change the path TODAY you’ve been on if you’re not where you want to be.

I have sent you a few emails about the books I got from you. I am curious about how you changed methods. In the eas contest you seem to have had cleaner carb loads as compared to dirty ones now, yet this time around you have gotten faster results in terms of muscle gain and fat loss . I think weight loss is all about three things – attitude, diet and exercise. From my experience, reducing carb intake and doing aerobic exercises are keys to successful weight loss.

Yes, I agree completely about cheese being one of the worst things you can eat. I suppose it does have calcium, but you can get that in healthier alternatives.

Interesting story. This just goes to show that you can usually find something healthy to eat no matter where you are – it’s just that sometimes it takes a little creativity.
